Brienon-sur-Armançon is a French commune in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It is located on the Armançon River, about halfway between Paris and Dijon .

Brienon-sur-Armançon has 3176 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is the capital of the canton of Brienon-sur-Armançon . The 16th century Collégiale Saint-Loup is well worth a visit .

Well-known personalities are Paul Bézine (1861–1928), a combative royalist , and Jean-Baptiste Jollois (1776–1842), engineer and participant in the Napoleonic Egyptian expedition .

The place maintains a twinning with the German city of Konz ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), which was sealed in Konz in 1965 and in Brienon in 1966.
