Saint-Bris-le-Vineux is a French commune with 1,024 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auxerre and the canton Auxerre-3 (until 2015: canton Auxerre-Est ).

Saint-Bris-le-Vineux is located about five kilometers south-southeast of Auxerre on the Yonne , which borders the municipality in the west. Saint-Bris-le-Vineux is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Augy in the north and northwest, Quenne in the north, Chitry in the northeast, Saint-Cyr-les-Colons in the east, Irancy in the south and southeast, Vincelottes in the south, Escolives-Sainte- Camille in the southwest and Champs-sur-Yonne in the west.

Viticulture
Viticulture is particularly important in the local area under the protected appellation Saint-Bris ; Sauvignon white wines in particular are produced here. To a lesser extent, grapes from the Sauvignon Gris grape variety are used.
