Chichery is about thirteen kilometers north-northwest of Auxerre on the Yonne , which borders the municipality in the east. Chichery is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bassou in the north, Beaumont in the north-east, Chemilly-sur-Yonne in the east, Gurgy in the east and south-east, Appoigny in the south, Branches in the west and south-west and Valravillon in the west and north-west.
