Legs is a French commune in the Yonne department ( Region Bourgogne Franche-Comté ) near Auxerre and Pontigny . The community has 482 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), has an area of 21.57 km² and is 180 meters above sea level. Legs is not far from Chablis .
Economy and Infrastructure
Legs is a village dominated by agriculture ( viticulture and fruit growing ). Many workers are therefore commuters who work in the larger towns in the area.
Viticulture at legs
The Chablis is the northernmost wine-growing region in Burgundy . Only Chardonnay is grown on the limestone slopes. The vineyards are divided between legs and 19 neighboring communities. The winemakers also have the right to use the regional designations of origin Bourgogne , Bourgogne Aligoté , Bourgogne Passetoutgrain , Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire and Crémant de Bourgogne .
