Mailly-le-Chateau is a French commune with a population of 554 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the canton of Joux-la-Ville in the arrondissement of Auxerre .

geography

Mailly-le-Château is 26 kilometers south of Auxerre on the left bank of the River Yonne and the Canal du Nivernais . Neighboring municipalities are Mailly-la-Ville in the east, Merry-sur-Yonne in the south and Fontenay-sous-Fouronnes in the north-west.

The departmental roads D39, D130 and D950 run through the municipality.

Culture and sights

The following buildings in the municipality of Gratot are managed by the French Ministry of Culture ( Ministère de la Culture ) as a monument historique and archaeological site ( Site archéologique ):
