Merry-Sec is a French commune with 175 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (2015: Burgundy ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Auxerre and the canton of Vincelles (until 2015 canton of Courson-les-Carrières ).

Merry-Sec is located in the south of the Puisaye countryside , about 16 kilometers south-southwest of Auxerre . Merry-Sec is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Coulangeron in the north and north-west, Escamps in the north and north-east, Migé in the east and north-east, Mouffy in the east and south-east, Courson-les-Carrières in the south-east, Les Hauts de Forterre in the south and Ouanne in the west .
