Merry-la-Vallée is a French municipality with 376 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auxerre and the canton Charny (until 2015: canton Aillant-sur-Tholon ).

Merry-la-Vallée is about 17 kilometers west of Auxerre . Merry-la-Vallée is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Val d'Ocre in the north, Égleny in the east and northeast, Beauvoir in the east, Parly in the south, Tourcy in the south and southwest and Villiers-Saint-Benoît in the west.
