The canton of Charny is a French constituency in the Arrondissement Auxerre , in the Yonne department and in the Burgundy region ; its main town is Charny Orée de Puisaye . Michel Courtois ( UMP ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 2008 .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Chablis included the 15 municipalities of Chambeugle , Charny , Chêne-Arnoult , Chevillon , Dicy , Fontenouilles , Grandchamp , La Ferté-Loupière , Malicorne , Marchais-Beton , Perreux , Prunoy , Saint- Denis-sur-Ouanne , Saint-Martin-sur-Ouanne and Villefranche . Its layout corresponded to an area of 260.88 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8910.
