Champvallon is a commune Déléguée in the French community Montholon with 643 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Auxerre .

On January 1, 2017, the commune of Champvallon merged with Aillant-sur-Tholon , Villiers-sur-Tholon and Volgré to form the new commune ( Commune nouvelle ) Montholon. The municipality belonged to the canton of Charny (until 2015 Aillant-sur-Tholon ).
