The Tholon is a river in France that runs in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . It rises in the Puisaye countryside , in the municipality of Parly , generally drains in a northerly direction and reaches the Yonne valley near Joigny . Here it swings abruptly to the west and flows into the Yonne as a left tributary after a total of 38 kilometers in the municipality of Cézy . Another arm of the river flows into the Yonne on the western outskirts of Joigny.
