Chamvres is a French commune in the Yonne department ( Region Bourgogne Franche-Comté ) in Arrondissement Sens (until 2017: Arrondissement Auxerre ) and in the canton of Charny . The municipality has 657 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called Chambériots .
