La Chapelle-sur-Oreuse is a French village with 624 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the canton of Thorigny-sur-Oreuse (until 2015: Canton Sergines ). The inhabitants are called Chapelin (es) .

La Chapelle-sur-Oreuse is about ten kilometers north-northeast of Sens . La Chapelle-sur-Oreuse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Plessis-Saint-Jean in the north, Thorigny-sur-Oreuse in the east, Soucy in the south, Cuy in the southwest, Évry in the west and southwest, Gisy-les-Nobles in the west and Michery in the north-west.

The A5 autoroute leads on the southwestern outskirts of the village along; the motorway triangle with the A19 autoroute is also on the extreme southwestern edge of the municipality.
