Brannay is a French municipality with 786 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). Brannay belongs to the Arrondissement Sens and the canton Gâtinais en Bourgogne (until 2015 Chéroy ).

Brannay is about 10 miles west-northwest of downtown Sens . Brannay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lixy in the north and west, Saint-Sérotin in the east and northeast, Villebougis in the south and southeast, Saint-Valérien in the south and southwest and Dollot in the west and southwest.
