Piffonds is a French municipality with 639 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Burgundy ). Piffonds belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the canton of Villeneuve-sur-Yonne . The inhabitants are called Puifondins .

Piffonds is about 12 miles south-southwest of downtown Sens . Piffonds is surrounded by the neighboring communities Vernoy in the north, Chaumot in the northeast, Bussy-le-Repos in the east and southeast, Saint-Martin-d'Ordon in the south, Courtenay in the west and southwest and Savigny-sur-Clairis in the northwest.
The motorway junction of the Autoroute A6 with the Autoroute A19 is located in the municipality .
