Fouchères belongs to the Arrondissement Sens and the canton Gâtinais en Bourgogne (until 2015 Chéroy ). The inhabitants are called Folchériens .

Fouchères is about eleven kilometers west-southwest of the city center of Sens . Fouchères is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villebougis in the north, Villeroy in the east, Subligny in the south-east, Villeneuve-la-Dondagre in the south and Saint-Valérien in the west and south-west.
