Thorigny-sur-Oreuse is a French village with 1,456 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the canton of Thorigny-sur-Oreuse (until 2015: canton of Sergines ). The inhabitants are called Thorignats or Thorigniens .

Thorigny-sur-Oreuse is about 13 kilometers northeast of Sens . Thorigny-sur-Oreuse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pailly in the north and north-west, Perceneige in the north and north-east, La Postolle in the east, Voisines in the south, Soucy in the south-west, La Chapelle-sur-Oreuse in the west and Plessis-Saint-Jean in the Northwest.
history
The municipality was created in 1972/73 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities Thorigny , Fleurigny and Saint-Martin-sur-Oreuse .
