Cornant is a French municipality with 357 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . Cornant belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the Canton of Gâtinais en Bourgogne (until 2015: Canton Sens-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Cornantois .

Cornant is about ten kilometers southwest of downtown Sens . Cornant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Collemiers in the north and east, Égriselles-le-Bocage in the south and east and Villeneuve-la-Dondagre in the west.

The A19 autoroute runs through the municipality .
