Domats is a French commune with 819 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the Burgundy region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Sens and the canton Gâtinais en Bourgogne (until 2015: canton Chéroy ). The inhabitants are called Domatiens .

geography

Domats is located on the small river Betz , which rises here, about 98 kilometers south-east of Paris , in the fertile landscape of the Gâtinais . Domats is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Montacher-Villegardin in the north, La Belliole in the northeast, Courtoin in the east, Vernoy in the southeast, Savigny-sur-Clairis in the south, Saint-Hilaire-les-Andrésis in the southwest, Foucherolles in the west and Bazoches-sur -le-Betz in the northwest.
