Courlon-sur-Yonne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bazoches-lès-Bray in the north, Sergines in the east and northeast, Serbonnes in the east, Villemanoche in the south and southeast, Champigny in the south and southwest and Vinneuf in the west.
