Saint-Clément is a French commune with 2,756 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the Canton of Sens-1 . The inhabitants are called Clémentins .

Saint-Clément is close to the Yonne River . Saint-Clément is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Soucy in the north and northeast, Saligny in the east, Sens in the south and Saint-Denis-lès-Sens in the west and northwest.

history

Here at the source of the Azon (in what is now the municipality), Saint Kolumba of Sens is said to have been martyred. Via Agrippa ran through the community from Sens . During the French Revolution the place was called Plaisance .
