Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the arrondissement Auxerre became the area of the twelve municipalities of Béon , Brion , Bussy-en-Othe , Cézy , Champlay , Chamvres , Joigny , Looze , Paroy-sur-Tholon , Saint-Aubin-sur- Yonne , Villecien and Villevallier assigned to the Arrondissement of Sens.

until 2015: Chigy , Saint-Romain-le-Preux , Sépeaux , Theil-sur-Vanne , Vareilles
Before 1926
From 1800 (year VIII of the Revolution) to 1926, the arrondissement consisted of the current cantons, with the exception of Cerisiers , Saint-Julien-du-Sault and Villeneuve-sur-Yonne , which were taken over from the dissolved Arrondissement Joigny .
