The canton of Joigny is a French constituency in the Arrondissement Sens , in the Yonne department and in the Burgundy region ; its main town is Joigny . Julien Ortega (formerly UMP , later DVD ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Department since 2001 .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Joigny included the ten municipalities of Béon , Cézy , Champlay , Chamvres , Joigny , Looze , Paroy-sur-Tholon , Saint-Aubin-sur-Yonne , Villecien and Villevallier . Its layout corresponded to an area of 140 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8919.
