Saint-Romain-le-Preux is a village and a former French commune of 178 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (2015 Bourgogne ). It belonged to the arrondissement of Auxerre and the canton of Charny (until 2015 canton of Saint-Julien-du-Sault ).

With effect from January 1, 2016, Saint-Romain-le-Preux merged with the former municipality of Sépeaux to form the Commune nouvelle Sépeaux-Saint Romain and has since had the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality .
