Villeneuve-la-Guyard is a French municipality with 3465 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the canton of Pont-sur-Yonne .
geography
The place is near the river Yonne on the national road N 6 (D 606) between Sens (25 km) and Fontainebleau (29 km) and on the Paris – Marseille railway line .
Attractions
Every year on the last weekend in August, the village hosts the Foire aux Oignons (onion market), a mix between a street festival and a flea market, where the onions and garlic are of course the focus.
