Chéroy is a French commune with 1,655 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the Burgundy region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the Canton of Gâtinais en Bourgogne (until 2015: Chéroy ). The inhabitants are called Caroissiens .

geography

Chéroy is located on the small river Lunain , about 87 kilometers southeast of Paris , in the fertile landscape of the Gâtinais . Chéroy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Blennes in the north, Vallery in the northeast, Dollot in the east, Montacher-Villegardin in the south and southeast, Jouy in the southwest and Vaux-sur-Lunain in the west and northwest.
