Water supply to Paris

In the catchment area of the Loing and its tributary Lunain, a number of springs were taken at the beginning of the 20th century and diverted in a 91 kilometer long aqueduct , the Aqueduc du Loing et du Lunain , towards Paris . The aqueduct joins in the forest of Fontainebleau , west of Moret-sur-Loing , with the other two aqueducts Aqueduc de la Vanne and Aqueduc de la Voulzie . All three together represent the drinking water supply from Paris to the south.
