The Ethnological Museum of Vietnam ( Vietnamese Bảo tàng Dân tộc học Việt Nam , English Vietnam Museum of Ethnology ) is a museum in Hanoi that focuses on the 54 official peoples of Vietnam . It is located on a 13,200 m² site in the Cầu Giấy district about 8 km from the city center.

Construction of the museum began in 1987 and was completed in 1997. The exhibition building was designed by the architect Ha Duc Linh, a member of the Vietnamese ethnic group of the Thai, in the form of a Dong-Son drum . In addition to this modern building with its extensive exhibition, there are several original-size replicas in the outdoor area. The museum has more than 15,000 exhibits. The collections are labeled in Vietnamese, English and French. The museum has developed into one of Hanoi's most important tourist objects in a short time.
