Étigny is a French municipality with 752 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . Étigny belongs to the Arrondissement of Sens and the canton of Villeneuve-sur-Yonne (until 2015: Canton Sens-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Stiniciens .

Étigny is located on the Yonne River , which borders the municipality to the east, and is about six kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Sens . Étigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gron in the north and west, Rosoy in the north and east, Véron in the east and south-east, and Marsangy in the south and south-west.

The municipality's train station is on the Paris – Marseille railway line .
