history
Merovingian graves have been found in the area of Bazoches-lès-Bray . The place is first documented in the 12th century. In the 13th century the landlord is called Girard, whose family ruled the town for over two hundred years. After that the rulership changed hands several times, at the beginning of the French Revolution the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris owned the manor . The place was fortified in 1546.
