Noyen-sur-Seine is a French commune with 371 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Provins and the Canton of Provins . The inhabitants call themselves Noyennais .
history
In an old course of the Seine (Petite-Seine), two dugout canoes were discovered at a distance of 500 m during canal construction in Noyen-sur-Seine , one of which dates from the Mesolithic and the other from the Carolingian period. A Neolithic moat system with pits inside is located in the corridor Le Haut des Nachères on the Old Seine . They belong to the Chassey culture , but the finds also show Michelsberg influences.
The place is first documented in the 11th century. The manor changed frequently and finally came to the Barentin de Montchal family in the 18th century.
