The municipality is located on the north bank of the Seine across from Bray-sur-Seine 22 kilometers north of the town of Sens .

history

In Gallo-Roman times, the place was on the Roman road that connected Lyon with Boulogne-sur-Mer .

It is first passed down as Moysei in the 11th century. Other toponyms were: Moisium (1163), Moisy (1201), Moisy-sur-Seine (1335), Moysiacum propre Brayum (1400), Moy-lès-Bray-sur-Seine (1512), Moysy (1674), Moisy ( 1757) and Mouy (1801).
