Mormant is a French municipality with 4834 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Provins of the canton of Nangis . The inhabitants are called Mormantais (es) .
geography
Mormant is about 35 kilometers southeast of Paris . Mormant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aubepierre-Ozouer-le-Repos in the north and east, Saint-Ouen-en-Brie in the southeast, Bombon in the south, Saint-Méry in the southwest and Champeaux in the west.
The Avon River runs along the northern municipal boundary . The former National Route 19 runs through the municipality .
