history
Prehistoric and Gallo-Roman finds have been made in the area of Chalmaison .
The place was first documented in 1130. The first landlord was called Charlemaison, like the place, which became Chalmaison.

Personalities
- Abbé Henry Menardais (1882–1956) was pastor in Chalmaison from 1934 to 1952. In 1998 he was posthumously honored as Righteous Among the Nations .
