The Arrondissement Provins is an administrative unit in the Seine-et-Marne department in the French region of Île-de-France . The main town (seat of the sub-prefecture ) is Provins .
With effect from January 1, 2006, the cantons of Rebais (previously Arrondissement Meaux) and Rozay-en-Brie (previously Arrondissement Melun) were assigned to the Arrondissement Provins.

Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the area of the ten municipalities of Amillis , Chauffry , Chevru , Dagny , Dammartin-sur-Tigeaux , Hautefeuille , Marolles-en-Brie , Pézarches , Tigeaux and Touquin from the Arrondissement Provins were assigned to the Arrondissement Meaux .
Instead , the area of the seven municipalities of Blennes , Chevry-en-Sereine , Diant , Montmachoux , Noisy-Rudignon , Thoury-Férottes and Voulx from the Arrondissement of Fontainebleau , the area of the two municipalities of Ferrières-en-Brie and Pontcarré from the Arrondissement of Torcy and the Area of the 15 communes of Aubepierre-Ozouer-le-Repos , Bréau , La Chapelle-Gauthier , Châtres , Clos-Fontaine , Courtomer , Favières , Fontenailles , Grandpuits-Bailly-Carrois , Liverdy-en-Brie , Mormant , Presles-en-Brie , Quiers , Saint-Ouen-en-Brie and Verneuil-l'Étang from the Arrondissement of Melun to the Arrondissement of Provins.
Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2019
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2019, the area of the two municipalities Villeneuve-le-Comte and Villeneuve-Saint-Denis from the Arrondissement Provins was assigned to the Arrondissement Torcy .
