The canton of Provins is a French canton in the Arrondissement Provins , in the Seine-et-Marne and the region Ile-de-France ; its capital is Provins . Bertrand Caparroy ( PS ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1998 . The canton of Provins is 1050.35 km² and in 2017 had 57,947 inhabitants.

Until the reorganization, the canton of Provins consisted of the 15 municipalities Chalautre-la-Petite , La Chapelle-Saint-Sulpice , Chenoise , Cucharmoy , Longueville , Mortery , Poigny , Provins , Rouilly , Saint-Brice , Saint-Hilliers , Saint-Loup- de-Naud , Sainte-Colombe , Soisy-Bouy and Vulaines-lès-Provins . Its layout corresponded to an area of 182.26 km 2 .
