Chenoise is a village in the French community chenoise-Cucharmoy and a former municipality with last 1,386 inhabitants (at January 1, 2016) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Provins and the Canton of Provins . The inhabitants are called Chenoisiens .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Chenoise and Cucharmoy were merged to form Commune nouvelle Chenoise-Cucharmoy . However, the former municipalities do not have the status of Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Chenoise.
geography
Chenoise is about 68 kilometers east-southeast of Paris . The small river Yvron has its source in the municipality . Chenoise is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Bannost-Villegagnon in the north, Saint-Hilliers in the east, Mortery in the southeast, Vulaines-lès-Provins and Cucharmoy in the south, Saint-Just-en-Brie in the west and Jouy-le-Châtel in the north-west.
