La Grande-Paroisse is a French commune with 2,786 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Provins and the canton of Montereau-Fault-Yonne . The inhabitants are called Grands-Paroissiens or Roissiens for short .

La Grande-Paroisse is located on the Seine . La Grande-Paroisse is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Valence-en-Brie in the north, Forges in the northeast, Montereau-Fault-Yonne in the east, Varennes-sur-Seine in the southeast, Ville-Saint-Jacques in the south, Montarlot and Orvanne ( Moret -sur-Loing and Écuelles ) in the southwest and Vernou-la-Celle-sur-Seine in the west.
