It belongs to the Arrondissement Provins and the canton of Fontenay-Trésigny (until 2015: canton of Rozay-en-Brie ). The inhabitants are called Capello-Bourbonais .

Les Chapelles-Bourbon is located about 53 kilometers east-southeast of Paris . Les Chapelles-Bourbon is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Neufmoutiers-en-Brie in the north, La Houssaye-en-Brie in the east and northeast, Marles-en-Brie in the southeast, Châtres in the south and Tournan-en-Brie in the west and southwest.
