Anton Kogler (* in Erding ; † December 20, 1729 ibid) was an Upper Bavarian bricklayer and master builder who, as Erdinger's city mason, built numerous baroque churches in Erdinger Land.

Life

Anton Kogler, like his grandfather Kaspar and his father Hans Kogler, belonged to a master mason family originally from Schliersee , which provided the Erdingen master mason from 1649 to 1729 after the Thirty Years' War . Anton Kogler took over the office after the death of his father in 1702 and held it until his own death in 1729. During this time he led the expansion, renovation or new construction of around thirty churches. His widow then married Johann Baptist Lethner (1700–1782), who, as the next Erdingen city mason, built more than twenty churches. Then Mathias Rösler, who came from Vienna and married into the family, continued the tradition until 1808.
