The monuments of the Upper Bavarian market in Wartenberg are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority.

On the castle hill

stele Commemorative stele to the defunct Wartenberg Castle, classicistic limestone stele on a three-step pedestal, 1855. Inscriptions:
  • Wartenberg Castle stood here
  • Otto the Greater, ancestor of the Bavarian regent house, lived in the castle above Wartenberg according to a document from 1171.
  • Ludwig the Kelheimer lived in his youth on the castle Wartenberg. 1183-1192.
  • Duke Ferdinand of Bavaria, married to Maria Pettenbeck, re-founded the House of Wartenberg under Wilhelm V, whose descendants flourished as Counts of Wartenberg. 1588-1736.
