Edge (unit)

Rand was a yarn measure for linen and hemp yarns that was used in Scotland and Leeds (Northern England / Yorkshire), unlike other uses in England and Ireland.

  • 1 edge = 6 lea = 1800 yards = 1645.92 meters
  • 1 dozen = 12 rands = 72 lea = 21,600 yards = 19751.04 meters
