Finance medal from the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance

The Finance Medal of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance is an award from the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance , which has been awarded since 1996 to people or associations who have made outstanding contributions to finance. It was donated by the then Bavarian Finance Minister Erwin Huber and is usually awarded a maximum of 20 times a year. It replaced the medal for services to Bavarian finance , which was awarded in the period from 1978 to 1996.

The medal has a diameter of 40 mm and is made of fine silver . The obverse shows a Bavaria sitting on a chariot , drawn by two lions. In addition, two white-blue heart shields are shown, which symbolize Bavaria as a whole as a diamond shield. The inscription reads FLOREAT SEMPER BAVARIAE REGIO in Latin , 'Bayernland always bloom' . The reverse shows the large Bavarian state coat of arms with the inscription Bavarian State Ministry of Finance . The award takes place with a certificate and a pin. The gold and bronze versions have not been awarded since 2013.

The finance medal of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance is not a medal or badge of honor in the sense of Art. 118 Paragraph 5 of the Constitution of the Free State of Bavaria and is not intended for public use.

  1. The medal for services to the Bavarian financial system bears the representation of the three Monetae on the front, which stand for the three coin metals gold, silver and bronze / copper. As usual in ancient times, the three Monetae are represented with a cornucopia and scales. At their feet - based on the classic depictions - there is a little bag of coins. The middle Moneta also carries a palm branch. Moneta is the nickname of the Roman goddess Juno , who was worshiped on the Capitol and in whose 345 BC. The mint was located in the temple donated in the 3rd century BC. Above the three Monetae hovers the inscription in Latin Moneta , Mint ' . On the back of the medal is the large Bavarian national coat of arms and the inscription Bavarian State Ministry of Finance .
