Volgré is a commune Déléguée in the French community Montholon with 350 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Auxerre .

On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Volgré merged with Aillant-sur-Tholon , Champvallon and Villiers-sur-Tholon to form the new municipality ( Commune nouvelle ) Montholon. The municipality belonged to the canton of Charny (until 2015 Aillant-sur-Tholon ).

Volgré is about 20 kilometers northwest of Auxerre . The A6 autoroute leads past the village.
