Nitry is a French commune with 369 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (before 2016 Bourgogne ) in eastern France . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Auxerre (until 2017 Avallon ) and the canton of Chablis (until 2015 Noyers ).

Nitry is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lichères-près-Aigremont in the north and northwest, Aigremont in the north and northeast, Noyers in the east, Grimault in the southeast, Joux-la-Ville in the south and Vermenton in the west.
