The Komsomol'skiy Peak ( Russian Пик Комсомолский Pik Komsomolski , German ' Komsomolspitze ' ) is a partially snow-covered mountain in the East Antarctic Mac-Robertson Land . It rises from the Antarctic Ice Sheet around 200 km south-southeast of Mount Menzies .
Soviet scientists discovered and named him on January 7, 1958 on a flight from the station at the Pole of Inaccessibility to Mirny Station . Aerial photographs were taken in 1960 during the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
