The Cugnot Piedmont Glacier is a 24 km long and between 5 and 10 km wide foreland glacier in the north of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It extends on the Trinity Peninsula from the Russell East Glacier to Eyrie Bay and is bounded inland by the Louis Philippe Plateau .
Measurements carried out by the Falkland Island Dependencies Survey between 1960 and 1961 were used to map the glacier. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on February 12, 1964. It was named after the French engineer Nicholas Cugnot (1725-1804), who built the first steam car in 1769 .
