The Kirby Cone is a prominent mountain peak in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It rises from a mountain ridge that extends northward at the northwest end of the Michigan Plateau .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after Charles H. Kirby, a radio operator at Byrd Station in the Antarctic winter of 1961.
