Joseph von Münch-Bellinghausen

Joseph Heinrich Franz Freiherr Münch von Bellinghausen (born August 14, 1801 in Aschaffenburg , † October 10, 1861 in Linz ) was envoy, judge and member of the first chamber of the estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Joseph Freiherr von Münch-Bellinghausen was the son of Heinrich Joachim Cajetan Freiherr von Münch-Bellinghausen (1775-1823) and his wife Maria Görger († 1839). Joseph Freiherr von Münch-Bellinghausen married Antonia Amalia nee von Heckel (1805-1851) on October 15, 1829, the daughter of KK Rittmeister Johann Baptist von Heckel and Maria Theresia Rosina Johanna von Gülich (in 1812 she married Peter Josef von Rüding (1783–1863), district councilor in Bensheim). The marriage resulted in a son and three daughters.

Life

Münch-Bellinghausen studied law and became a court court advisor in Darmstadt. During his studies in 1816 he became a member of the Gießen Germanic Association . From 1823 to 1825 he was second assessor at the Lorsch regional court and from 1825 to 1829 assessor at the Darmstadt court , where he was court judge from 1829-1836. In 1834 he was appointed chamberlain and in 1855 he was appointed chamberlain . In 1836 he was promoted to Higher Appeal and Cassation Judge at the Higher Appeal Court in Darmstadt . In 1840 he became master of ceremonies and in 1852 privy councilor and chief master of ceremonies. Later he became a real privy councilor.

In 1850 he was envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Bundestag in Frankfurt. He then held the same position at the Baden and Kurhessian courts until 1861, and from 1857 he was ambassador extraordinary and authorized minister at the Nassau court.

From 1847 to 1849 he was a member of the 1st Chamber of the Estates.

He is buried in Darmstadt.
