The Communauté de communes du Serein is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . It was founded on January 1, 2014 and currently comprises 35 municipalities. The administrative headquarters are located in L'Isle-sur-Serein .

Historical development

The community association was created in 2014 through the merger of the predecessor organizations Communauté de communes Haute Vallée de Serein , Communauté de communes de la Terre Plaine and Communauté de communes Nucérienne . The name was initially Communauté de communes Haute Vallée de Serein, Nucérienne et Terre Plaine , but was changed to the current name shortly afterwards.

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Guillon , Cisery , Sceaux , Trévilly and Vignes became part of the Commune nouvelle Guillon-Terre-Plaine . This reduced the number of member communities to 35.
