Étivey is a French commune with 197 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (before 2016 Bourgogne ) in eastern France . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Avallon and the canton of Chablis ( Noyers until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Étivéens .

Étivey is located about 55 kilometers east-southeast of Auxerre . Étivey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villiers-le-Hautes in the north, Nuits in the northeast, Perrigny-sur-Armançon in the east, Aisy-sur-Armançon in the east and southeast, Bierry-les-Belles-Fontaines in the south, and Châtel-Gérard in the Southwest, Sarry in the west and Pasilly in the northwest.
